FAST Aerospace is proud to announce its participation at the International Astronautical Congress (IAC) 2025, held this year in Sydney, Australia. During the event, Alessandro Castelvetri, Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) and Co-founder of FAST Aerospace, presented the paper “HyperDart: advancements in research and development of FAST Aerospace’s hypersonic technology for its smallsat air-launcher” within the Technologies for Future Space Transportation Systems Session, part of the IAF Space Transportation Solutions and Innovations Symposium.
The presentation detailed the latest technical progress achieved by FAST Aerospace on HyperDart, its reusable, hypersonic air-launch system designed to provide a faster, more flexible, and sustainable access to orbit for small satellites. The research highlights developments in the development and testing of its ramjet engine experimental combustion chamber, key enabler for the next generation of airbreathing space transportation systems.
“Presenting our work at IAC is not only an honor but an essential opportunity to strengthen ties with the global scientific community,” said Alessandro Castelvetri. “Scientific congresses like the IAC are invaluable occasions to exchange knowledge, validate research through peer dialogue, and establish meaningful connections that can accelerate innovation. Our participation has been incredibly productive, not only for the technical discussions but also for the new collaborations and relationships we’ve built with key players across the Australian and international aerospace sectors.”
The IAC is confirmed again a unique global platform for cooperation between research institutions, industry, and governmental agencies in advancing the future of space. FAST Aerospace’s presence in Sydney also marks an important milestone in the company’s broader international roadmap, which includes developing partnerships across Oceania and Asia to support upcoming phases of flight testing and technology maturation for HyperDart.
FAST Aerospace extends its gratitude to the International Astronautical Federation (IAF) for hosting such a pivotal event, and to all those who contributed to making this year’s congress an exceptional moment of exchange, collaboration, and inspiration for the global space community.
