Air-Launch System
HyperDart is FAST Aerospace's reusable air-launch architecture for small satellite delivery to low Earth orbit. The system is built around a horizontal take-off concept, with a Crossbow-powered carrier aircraft releasing the second stage at high altitude and hypersonic speed.
The architecture is designed for minimal ground infrastructure and maximum mission flexibility through conventional runway operations and highly reusable carrier stage. Experience resilient, autonomous and sovereign access to space with aviation-like turnaround times.
Operating from conventional runways, HyperDart eliminates the need for dedicated launch facilities. The carrier aircraft provides a mobile, reusable first stage, releasing the hypersonic second stage at a pre-selected altitude and speed. This approach enables launches from multiple sites and significantly reduces mission preparation lead times compared to vertical launch systems.
The second stage is powered by the Crossbow ramjet, air-breathing through the high-speed cruise phase before transitioning to the terminal orbital insertion burn.
HyperDart is designed to serve both institutional and commercial operators requiring responsive, flexible access to low Earth orbit. Current development is focused on propulsion and airframe subsystems, with engagement open to anchor customers and institutional partners seeking European launch independence.
